Stichting Tulong Cebu is een non-profitorganisatie die zich inzet voor het verbeteren van de leefomstandigheden van kwetsbare inwoners van Cebu, Filipijnen. Cebu is een prachtige regio, maar kent ook grote armoede, waardoor veel gezinnen moeite hebben om te voorzien in basisbehoeften zoals onderwijs en gezondheidszorg.
Onze stichting richt zich in het bijzonder op kinderen en jongeren uit kansarme gezinnen en kinderen die verblijven in weeshuizen. Wij geloven dat onderwijs de sleutel is tot een betere toekomst. Daarom ondersteunen wij onder andere met schoolbenodigdheden, zodat kinderen daadwerkelijk naar school kunnen en daar ook kunnen blijven.
Daarnaast organiseren wij medische hulp en bieden wij ondersteuning in noodsituaties, zoals bij natuurrampen. Waar nodig helpen wij ook andere kwetsbare groepen, zoals ouderen zonder sociaal vangnet, die vaak in moeilijke omstandigheden leven.
Wij werken nauw samen met lokale contactpersonen en gemeenschappen in Cebu. Hierdoor kunnen wij ervoor zorgen dat hulp direct terechtkomt bij de mensen die dit het hardst nodig hebben.
Met onze projecten streven wij naar duurzame verbetering: niet alleen tijdelijke hulp, maar echte kansen voor de toekomst.
Inzamelingsactiviteiten
Wij van Stichting Tulong Cebu zamelen nieuwe/herbruikbare kleding, beddengoed, ander textiel, schoenen, speelgoed/schoolbenodigdheden en huishoudelijke artikelen in en doneren deze aan zeer arme gezinnen en weeshuizen in de Filipijnen. In Nederland wordt jaarlijks zo’n 125 miljoen kilo aan deze goederen weggegooid, verbrand of bij het grofvuil gezet. Wij vinden dit zeer jammer, want deze spullen kunnen nog een groot verschil maken voor mensen in nood.
Door textielafval in te zamelen en te recyclen, verminderen we de hoeveelheid afval die op stortplaatsen belandt en verminderen we de CO2-uitstoot die gepaard gaat met de productie van nieuwe kleding. Daarnaast zorgen we ervoor dat waardevolle grondstoffen behouden blijven en opnieuw kunnen worden gebruikt, waardoor we de druk op natuurlijke hulpbronnen verminderen. Door bij te dragen aan een circulaire economie voor textiel, dragen we bij aan een duurzamere wereld voor toekomstige generaties.
Dus als u nog kleding, textiel, schoenen, speelgoed/schoolbenodigdheden of huishoudelijke artikelen heeft liggen die u niet meer gebruikt, dan zouden wij deze graag willen ontvangen. Uw bijdrage zal een groot verschil maken in het leven van deze mensen en wij zijn u enorm dankbaar voor uw steun. Samen kunnen we ervoor zorgen dat deze spullen een tweede leven krijgen en dat mensen die het echt nodig hebben geholpen worden.
Hoe wij dit bereiken
Ons doel proberen we te bereiken door:
- Het inzamelen van hulpgoederen en kleding van bewoners uit de Gemeente Veendam en omstreken;
- Het uitpakken, inpakken en coderen van hulpgoederen en kleding in dozen, en het laden van deze dozen in containers;
- Het organiseren van culturele evenementen, activiteiten en/of bijeenkomsten;
- Het bieden van informatie over de activiteiten van de stichting, onder andere door gebruikmaking van verschillende media;
- Samen te werken met diverse relevante organisaties en instellingen;
- Het verrichten van alle verdere handelingen die met het bovenstaande in de ruimste zin verband houden of die bevorderlijk, nuttig en/of gewenst kunnen zijn volgens het bestuur.

Welcome to Stichting Tulong Cebu
Welcome to the official website of Stichting Tulong Cebu.
Stichting Tulong Cebu is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the living conditions of vulnerable communities in Cebu, Philippines. Cebu is a beautiful region, but many families face significant poverty, making it difficult to meet basic needs such as education and healthcare.
Our foundation focuses primarily on children and young people from disadvantaged families, as well as children living in orphanages. We believe that education is the key to a better future. Therefore, we support them by providing essential school supplies, enabling children to attend school and continue their education.
In addition, we organize medical missions and provide assistance during emergency situations, such as natural disasters. Where needed, we also support other vulnerable groups, including elderly people without a social safety net, who often live in difficult circumstances.
We work closely with local contacts and communities in Cebu to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most directly and effectively.
Through our projects, we aim to create sustainable impact: not just temporary aid, but real opportunities for a better future.
Collection Activities
We at Stichting Tulong Cebu collect new/reusable clothing, bedding, other textiles, shoes, toys/school supplies, and household items, and donate them to very poor families in the Philippines. In the Netherlands, approximately 125 million kilos of these goods are discarded, burned, or thrown away as bulky waste each year. We find this very unfortunate because these items can still make a significant difference for people in need.
By collecting and recycling textile waste, we reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and decrease the CO2 emissions associated with the production of new clothing. Additionally, we ensure that valuable raw materials are preserved and can be reused, thereby reducing the pressure on natural resources. By contributing to a circular economy for textiles, we help create a more sustainable world for future generations.
So if you have clothing, textiles, shoes, toys/school supplies, or household items that you no longer use, we would be happy to receive them. Your contribution will make a significant difference in the lives of these people, and we are immensely grateful for your support. Together, we can ensure that these items get a second life and that people who truly need them are helped.
How We Achieve This
We strive to achieve our goal by:
- Collecting aid supplies and clothing from residents of the Municipality of Veendam and surrounding areas;
- Unpacking, packing, and coding aid supplies and clothing in boxes, and loading these boxes into containers;
- Organizing cultural events, activities, and/or gatherings;
- Providing information about the foundation's activities, including through various media;
- Collaborating with various relevant organizations and institutions;
- Performing all further actions that are related to the above in the broadest sense or that may be conducive, useful, and/or desirable according to the board.
